Membership Criteria

MEMBER:
To be admitted as a Member, an applicant shall:
Be employed in local government or a relevant organisation as determined by the Board; and
Hold a managerial appointment; and
Hold a degree, diploma or relevant qualification or have demonstrated experience or prior learning to the satisfaction of the Board.
The application should be endorsed by at least two current Fellows or Members of LGMA.
Post nominals - MLGMA

FELLOW:
To be admitted as a Fellow, an applicant shall:
Have made a significant and active contribution to LGMA or Local Government: and
Have been admitted as a member for a minimum period of 10 years or such lesser period as may be determined by the Board.
The application should be endorsed by at least two current Fellows or Members of LGMA.
Post-nominals - FLGMA

AFFILLIATE:
This category of membership applies to a person employed in the local government industry who is not otherwise qualified to become a either a Fellow or Member of LGMA
The application should be endorsed by at least two current Fellows or Members of LGMA.

RETIRED:
A Fellow or Member who has retired and who wishes to retain an interest in LGMA may apply to Divisional Council to become a Retired Member.

SUBSCRIBER:
An individual or body corporate with an interest in Local Government management may subscribe to LGMA.
